"A holistic approach can support the healthcare system by targeting health, and not just the delivery of care."

We are beings composed of a mind, a body, and a soul that are interconnected and interact with each other. Addressing all of them at the same time and with equal importance creates a state of balance, harmonizing the relationship between them while promoting a healthy individual.

The implementation of holistic care takes into account the biological, mental, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the individual. It is a multifaceted approach to the health-disease issue, as well as an added layer of support for the conventional care provided in today’s hospitals. The holistic approach will not just treat the illness but will promote healing to occur.

We have to be conscious of our bodies, emotions and thoughts, and educate ourselves about health and illness in order to be active participants in our recoveries. I advocate for a holistic care approach, where all the patients’ dimensions are honored and treated to support the healing process.
